CASTINE, Maine – Senior Eryn Doiron (Wilton, Maine) tallied a hat-trick to lead Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer to an 8-0 victory over NVU-Johnson on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at Ritchie Field.
The Mariners improve to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the NAC with their sixth shutout of the season, while the Badgers drop to 0-11 on the season and 0-5 in the conference. Maine Maritime returns to action tomorrow when they host NVU-Lyndon at 2:30 pm.
Kelsea Anair (Richmond, Maine) tallied her second goal of the season when she headed in a corner kick from teammate Suzanne Wooldridge (Corona, Calif.) in the fourth minute and just over two minutes later, Doiron picked up her first goal of the game on a cross from Jillian Holden (Madison, Maine). Doiron scored back-to-back goals to make it 4-0 in the 17th minute and Margot Simeon (Findlay, Ohio) picked up her third goal of the season with an unassisted goal in the 28th minute to send the Mariners into halftime with a 5-0 lead.
Adeline Davis (Dresden, Maine) picked up her first goal of the season in the 68th minute, both Beth Labbe (Brunswick, Maine) and Emily Conway (Charleston. S.C.) tallied their first career goal late in the second half to give the Mariners the 8-0 victory.
Bess MacArthur (Castine, Maine) earned the victory in net for the Mariners, while Jordan Pelland and Aysha Hodgdon collected four saves in net in the combined effort for the Badgers.
