Reny Represents Mariners at NEISDA Championships and Sets Personal Bests

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy swimming began competition at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships on Friday on the campus of MIT.

Friday, February 22: PRELIM RESULTS | FINALS RESULTS

In the Finals:

  • Joshua Roberts (Saco, Maine) qualified for the finals in the 100 Yard Butterfly, swimming a time of 56.74 in the prelims, and improved on that time in the finals with a season best time of 56.38 to finish 15th
  • The relay team of Patrick McEneaney (Suffolk, Va.), Matthew Link (Sparta, N.J.), Brad Tibbetts (Boothbay Harbor, Maine) and Roberts finished 10th in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:37.63) and the 400 Yard Medley Relaly (4:02.19)
  • In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay Tibbetts swam a season best 22.70

In the Preliminaries:

  • McEneaney finished 19th and swam a personal best in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:14.39)
  • Kaitlyn Reny (Lewiston, Maine) finished 32nd and set a personal best in the 50 Yard Breaststroke (35.92)
  • Link placed 22nd and swam a personal best in the 50 Yard Breaststroke (33.24)
  • Tibbetts placed 20th and set a personal best in the 50 Yard Freestyle (23.89)

Saturday, February 23: PRELIM RESULTS | FINALS RESULTS

In the Finals:

  • The relay team of Roberts, Link, McEneaney and Tibbetts placed 10th in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (1:48.86) to qualify for the finals where they improved on their time (1:48.42) and placed 10th
  • Roberts placed 13th in the 50 Yard Butterfly prelim, with a personal best time of 25.39, to qualify for the finals where he finished 16th (25.74)
  • McEneaney swam the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:55.14 and improved on that with a new personal best to finish 16th in the finals (1:54.03) 

In the Preliminaries:

  • Reny set personal bests when she placed 34th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:18.89) and 37th in the 50 Yard Butterfly (30.45)
