Cook-Sharp Leads Mariners at Maine State Meet

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming swam at the Maine State Meet hosted by Bowdoin College on Friday and Saturday.

The Mariners placed sixth out of seven, claiming 22 points, ahead of Saint Joseph's College of Maine.

Bates College claimed the victory with 1308 points, while Bowdoin College in second (861), and Colby College in third (654.5).

Women's Meet Results:

  • Kaitlyn Reny (Lewiston, Maine) placed 20th in the 50 yard breast, setting an new school record, with a time of 35.52, while Ellie Gellerson (Blue Hill, Maine) placed 24th with a time of 38.04.
  • Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished 18th in the 400 yard IM with a time of 5:41.69, which sets a new school record.
  • Reny finished 30th in the 100 yard breast with a time of 1:22.44.
  • Cook-Sharp placed 10th overall in the 1650 yard free with a time of 22:07.13.
  • Cook-Sharp finished 19th in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:56.70, while Reny placed 21st with a time of 3:02.22.

Maine Maritime with return to action on Saturday, January 18, when they host Norwich University at 2:00 pm in a Dual Meet in Cary W. Bok Swimming Pool on the campus of Maine Maritime Academy.
