UNITY, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy volleyball topped Unity College on Thursday night, 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-12) in non-conference action.
The Mariners combined for an impressive .440 hitting percentage as a team, and were led by reigning North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week, Tess Clark (Spring, Texas) who recorded 13 kills for a .571 hitting percentage, six digs and three service aces.
Gillian O'Neal (Burbank, Calif.) had nine kills for a .300 hitting percentage and six digs, while Jessica Menges (Old Forge, N.Y.) added five kills, two digs and two assists. Coronado Hickman (Houston, Texas) chipped in with three kills and two digs, and freshman Melissa Spaulding (Fairbanks, Alaska) recorded 26 assists and four digs.
The Mariners improve to 2-3 on the season and will travel to Eastern Nazarene College this Saturday, September 12th, to take on both the Lions and Salem State University in non-conference matchups.
