CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy volleyball defeated St. Thomas University (Canada) 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-21), on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action inside of Smith Gymnasium.
The Mariners improve to 14-3 overall and will return to action next Saturday, October 19 when they open up North Atlantic Conference play at SUNY Delhi with matches against both the Broncos and SUNY Canton, beginning at 10:00 am.
Rachel Melampy (Marshfield, Mass.) led the Mariners with 15 kills, six digs, and an ace, Jessica D'Auria (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) added eight kills, four digs, two aces and an assist and Maria Perez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) led all players with 13 digs, and also contributed five assists. Sydney Adams (Trumbull, Conn.) added a match-high 25 assists, to go with four digs, three aces and two kills.
Jenna DeGooyer led the Tommies with five kills and added four digs, Megan Mills led the team with nine digs, and added three kills and two blocks and Emily Dickson added a team-high 13 assists to go with six digs.
