CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy volleyball defeated SUNY Canton, 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-12) on Sunday afternoon to claim their fourth-straight North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship, and program's eighth overall, inside of Smith Gymnasium.

The top-seeded Mariners improve to 24-3 on the season and will advance to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth-straight year. The second-seeded Kangaroos conclude their season at 9-21 overall. Watch the selection show and view the national bracket HERE.

The Mariners won the first two sets by identical 25-18 scores, and took the third set by a commanding 25-12 score to claim the victory.

Tournament MVP Sydney Adams (Trumbull, Conn.) tallied a game-high 26 assists to go with six digs, three kills and two aces, while Rachel Melampy (Marshfield, Mass.) led all players with 14 kills, hitting .571 percent, and contributed seven digs and three aces to earn All-Tournament honors, and Maria Perez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) tallied a match-high 10 digs to go with an assist and an ace to also land a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Tatum Lafrance led the Kangaroos with five kills and three digs, Ashton Houppert led Canton with a team-high seven digs, and chipped in with five assists and an ace and Brynna Harris led the team with six assists, and contributed four digs, an ace and a kill.
