    Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country team earned the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team Award. The Mariners owned a cumulative grade point average of 3.25.

    Maine Maritime finished 51st, in a field of 53 teams, at the NCAA Division III Regionals Saturday at Southern Maine. Williams won the team race with four runners in the top 10 and six in the top 41.

    After finishing eighth at the North Atlantic Conference Championships, the Maine Maritime women's cross country team is gearing up for their last meet of the season. The 2013 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships is being held Saturday at the University of Southern Maine Cross Country course at Narragansett Elementary School in Gorham, Maine.

    There may be a youth movement afoot in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). The Terrier Classic Invitational, hosted by Thomas College, gave NAC teams a chance to preview the championship course on Saturday. Five of the top-six runners in the field of 66 were first-year athletes, including Maine Maritime’s Jess Faltings, who placed sixth to lead Maine Maritime to the same position the field of seven teams.

    Maine Maritime's cross country team begin the 2013 campaign Friday at New England College's Mayflower Classic. The Mariners men's team, picked to finish third in the North Atlantic Conference coaches poll, placed 5th at the Mayflower last year. The women, selected to finish seventh in the NAC, finished ninth at the Mayflower in 2012.
