Women’s Cross Country Ranked Seventh in NAC Preseason Poll

CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime has been selected to finish seventh among 10 teams in the North Atlantic Conference, in a preseason poll conducted by the league's coaches. 

Head Coach Ryan King guided the Mariners to an eighth place finish at last years NAC Championship, with Jessica Faltings placing a team-high 16th.

Faltings will rejoin veteran runners Caroline Martin, Elin Sonesson, and Hannah Page to direct this years squad. Freshman Ellie Perkins, Kristine Mehuren, and Olivia Burke will lead the newcomers. 

Maine Maritime will open up their season at the Mayflower Kickoff Event at New England College this Friday, August 29th.

Colby-Sawyer was selected as the preseason favorite, receiving five of the first-place votes. Husson University was selected to finish second, with one first-place vote (85 points overall), and defending conference champion New England College received the remaining four first-place votes (81 points overall) to earn the third place in the preseason rankings.
