Season Highlights:

September 24 - Mariners Post Strong Showing at Bowdoin Invitational II

Alex Allen led Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country to a sixth place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational II.

Allen placed 43rd overall out of 75 runners with a time of 27:51.9 on the 6k course. Nerissa Larrabee placed 47th, followed by Sierra James in 50th, Mary Shea in 54th and Robyn Larrabee in 56th.

October 29 - Mariners Finish Fifth at NAC Championship

Jessica Faltings finished 18th overall to lead the Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the North Atlantic Conference Championship.

Faltings finished the 5K course with a time of 23.40.2 to pace the Mariners in the 86 runner field. Nerissa Larrabee crossed the finish line next for the Mariners in 33rd place, followed closely by Mary Shea and Alex Allen in 36th and 37th place respectively. Robyn Larrabee rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners in 40th place.

November 1 – James Named to NAC Sportsmanship Team

Maine Maritime Academy's Sierra James was named to the North Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team.

The NAC Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the sport culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity.

November 12 – Faltings Paces Mariners at NCAA Regionals

Maine Maritime Academy's Jessica Faltings finished 242nd out of 406 runners to lead the Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country team to a 54th place finish at the NCAA Regional Championship hosted by Westfield State.

Faltings completed the 6K course at Stanley Park with a time of 25:26.54 to lead the Mariners, while Alex Allen placed 316th with a time of 26:50.46. Nerissa Larrabee placed 360th, followed by Abigail L'Abbé in 362nd and Mary Shea rounded out the top five for the Mariners finished in 367th place.

Other Highlights:

The Mariners placed five (Alex Allen, Catherine Bailey, Haley Eckert, Sierra James and Sarah Nevin) on the North Atlantic Conference All-Academic team, the most in team history.

In the spring, the Mariners competed in two outdoor track & field meets. The Mariners first competed at the Bowdoin College Outdoor Invitational and then the Eric Loeschner Track & Field Invitational at Fitchburg State University.

Jessica Faltings led the Mariners in seven of the eight races this season.

A number of Maine Maritime women's cross country runners were recognized at the Student Life Awards Banquet on April 5. Elizabeth Bailey was nominated for the Social Entrepreneurship Award for her work on the Relay for Life. Robyn Larrabee and Alphi Phi Omega were nominated for the Social Entrepreneurship Award. Alex Allen was nominated for the Award for Athletic Leadership. Abigail L'Abbé was nominated for the Emerging Leader Award. Olivia Burke and Mary Shea were nominated for the Student Government Leadership Award.
