BRUNSWICK, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country competed in the Bowdoin Invitational II on Saturday, placing fourth out of four teams.
Senior Abigail L'Abbé (Topsham, Maine) was the top finisher for the Mariners, placing 34th out of 46 runners, with a time of 28:12.7 on the 6k course. Senior Nerissa Cyr (Caribou, Maine) placed 37th, with a time of 29:14.1.
Freshman Lily Cook (Southwest Harbor, Maine) came in 42nd, with a time of 30:06.9, freshman Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished in 44th, with a time of 30:11.6. Senior Jessica Lindsay (Limestone, Maine) rounded out the top five for the Mariners, finishing just behind Cook-Sharp in 45th place, with a time 36:24.9.
Bowdoin College claimed team first place with a score of 15, while Roger Williams University placed second with a team score of 50. Bowdoin's Delany Bullock was the top overall finisher with a time of 23:13.4, only one tenth of a second ahead of teammate Caroline Shipley who had a time of 23:13.5.
The Mariners return to action on Saturday, November 2, when they travel to Vermont to compete in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships, hosted by Northern Vermont-Lyndon, scheduled for 12:00 PM.
